5 Year RAA Emergency Roadside Assistance
Introducing an automotive revolution, the Toyota Prius. With the latest in hybrid technology and computerised features, it will change the way you look at driving. In fact it will make you question everything you expect from a car.
The Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) allows Prius to achieve the best fuel efficiency rating of any vehicle sold in Australia1. The combination of a petrol engine and an electric motor engine allows you to use up to 50% less fuel than a similar sized car1. Reduced fuel consumption also means dramatically lower emissions.
Not only does Prius meet strict EURO IV emission standards, it exceeds this standard considerably. Prius was also the first vehicle in Australia to achieve a maximum five star rating in the Australian Government’s Green Vehicle Guide using regular unleaded petrol (ULP).

Start driving 1,000km per tank
With fuel consumption of 4.4 litres/100km, you can theoretically drive over 1,000 kilometres on a single tank2. In other words, from Brisbane to Sydney, or Melbourne to Sydney without stopping for petrol. It also delivers surprising performance comparable with other 4 cylinder small cars on the market, with 82KW combined power and 478Nm of torque3. So, what is the secret?
The Hybrid Synergy Drive incorporates a petrol engine and an electric motor
which work together for seamless delivery of power.
50% fewer CO2 Emissions*
Visiting the petrol station a lot less than before will perhaps be
your most obvious
indication of how little fuel you’re using. So just
to remind you about the state of the
economy, there’s a 7-inch
wide
touch-screen Electro Multi Vision (EMV) display mounted
centre stage on the instrument panel for easy reading and operation.
Prius has been designed to meet the ATPZEV (Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions
Vehicle) regulations in California, the Ultra Low Emissions Level in Japan, as well as the
Euro IV emission standards.
* Tested to ADR81/01 under controlled factory conditions,
compared to a
similar sized
car. Actual fuel consumption may
very depending on driving
style and
conditions.
The future's looking better
Up front, inclined headlamp units feature a neo-technical design
accented by a
frosted effect. From the aerodynamic front spoiler unfold elegant and flowing bodylines, Prius heralds a new generation in automotive design inspired by modern art, fashion and maybe the occasional science fiction movie.
A striking, aerodynamic profile is created as the bonnet sweeps up from the front bumper. The ‘Hybrid’ badges on the front side fenders signal to the world the advanced technology that lies within. Short overhangs extending from the wheels not only make for stylish design, but nimble handling. Small opera windows integrated into the front door pillar lend a futuristic slant to the side profile whilst aiding driver visibility. Then at the rear, the spoiler and lower back door window are incorporated into the elevated deck to give a distinctive look, whilst adding to the aerodynamic efficiency.
Aerodynamic covers have been installed under the floor, creating a flat, streamlined underbody for reduced drag. In fact, Prius has one of the lowest coefficient of drag achieved by any production car in Australia. Such aerodynamic efficiency further contributes to the outstanding economy and reduced emissions.
Feel more comfortable with technology
Prius gives you a good feeling inside, in more ways than one.
You’ll not only feel
great knowing you’re driving a car awarded worldwide for its outstanding fuel
efficiency, reduced emissions and contribution to preserving the environment,
you’ll also feel remarkably comfortable within its intelligently appointed interior.
The interior dimensions are surprisingly roomy for such an energy-efficient car. So you have generous amounts of headroom, plus front and rear legroom rivalling larger, more fuel-hungry vehicles.
A safer environment inside as well
Toyota Prius not only looks after the environment. It's also incredibly
protective of it’s occupants and considerate of other people.
One very visible example of Toyota's forward thinking technology happens in
reverse as the Prius i-Tech is fitted with a Rear View Camera4. Simply select
reverse and a colour image of what’s immediately behind your rear bumper
appears in the EMV screen. This not only means easier reversing and parking,
but leads to a greater chance of seeing objects while you are reversing, such
as a child or other pedestrian wandering into your path3.
