Ford returns Everest Wildtrak special edition
FORD Australia has resurrected the Wildtrak nameplate in the Everest large SUV line-up, confirming a limited-run of the hard-core 4x4 V6 turbodiesel capped at “around” 1000 units for local consumption.
The model was last available in early 2025 and is due to enter production in May, returning as a more premium, lifestyle-focused variant positioned above the Sport and priced from $79,990 plus on-road costs.
Up against surprisingly few diesel-powered competitors at ballpark money, the well specified Everest Wildtrak may be shopped against the likes of Isuzu’s four-cylinder MU-X X-Terrain (from $77,100) and the Toyota LandCruiser Prado GXL (from $79,690).
The reintroduction builds on the Wildtrak’s established identity in the Ranger line-up, blending rwhat Ford says is rugged styling with added technology and comfort features for SUV buyers.
Ford Australia marketing director Ambrose Henderson said the variant targets customers seeking a more distinctive take on the Everest.
“The Everest Wildtrak enables our customers to boldly conquer their next adventure,” he said.
Visually, the Wildtrak stands apart with gloss black exterior elements and signature Ignite Orange accents, including detailing within the grille and on the 20-inch alloy wheels.
A no-cost option swaps the standard road-focused wheel and tyre package for 18-inch alloys with all-terrain tyres, aimed at buyers prioritising off-road capability.
Inside, the cabin adopts a more premium and personalised feel, with leather-accented seats featuring Wildtrak branding and contrast stitching, alongside a panoramic roof, LED ambient cabin lighting, and a power-folding third row.
Technology highlights include matrix LED headlamps with dynamic bending and auto-levelling, improving visibility in low-light conditions.
Under the bonnet, the Everest Wildtrak retains Ford’s turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine paired with a full-time four-wheel-drive system, maintaining the model’s towing and off-road credentials.
With limited numbers and distinctive styling, the Everest Wildtrak is set to serve as a halo-style variant within the line-up, reinforcing Ford’s push to blend lifestyle appeal with core SUV capability.
The special edition is expected to appeal to buyers seeking a more individualised large SUV offering without stepping into higher price brackets.
